Take a look at the flooring in your RV. Is it old? Moldy? Do you even like the color, design, or material? If you said yes to any of those, it might be time for brand new flooring in your rig that you chose just for you.

For nearly 14 years, Bradd & Hall has been replacing and installing new floors in the RVs of our customers. Our goal is to work personally with you, and to treat you like family, so you can trust us to remodel or replace any furniture part in your RV. Because of our experience, we know how to lay RV flooring down to where it looks brand new. In this blog, we’ll discuss a few of our favorite materials we like to use when replacing floors and what to consider before doing so!

Before replacing the flooring in your RV, it’s a good idea to a few areas to make sure you don’t come across any problems during the installation. Under the floor is where quite a few crucial parts are hidden, and it could impact the installation process.

If you want your floor replaced but aren’t ready for the hassle, or you’ll be needing to use your RV, you can lay down a few rugs for a new, unique look until you’re ready to commit to new flooring.

We also recommend having your floor removed and reinstalled so it can be clean underneath. This prevents mold from growing, and you’ll have the opportunity to catch anything that’s gone awry or about to break.

Carpet

One of the most common floors we install is carpet. Carpet helps keep a consistent temperature inside – regardless of the weather outside – due to its great insulation capabilities. Here are a few other awesome aspects of  carpet:

  • Cost-effective
  • Easy to install
  • Easier for the elderly and pets to walk on

One of the few negative things about carpet is the ability to attract dirt and debris at a pretty quick rate, so the maintenance is a bit higher than most other materials. This is the way go to if you’re looking for an affordable choice!

Hardwood

Solid hardwood flooring is the option for those looking for premier flooring that is long-lasting and can stand up to the test of time. It comes in lots of different color options, such as cherry, ash, and maple, and these colors can really make your rig shine. Hardwood also comes in multiple textures, which is why it’s one of the most popular options for RV flooring. It can be refinished, too, and that gives you options to personalize down the road without paying for new material.

Ceramic

Just like all of the materials we’re mentioning, ceramic is a really good choice if you’re wanting the look of stone or marble without the maintenance. Ceramic is made from clay, so your tiles would be resistant to heat and can stand up to the roughest of direct impact. Ceramic also doesn’t absorb moisture, making it a great option for those in harsh climates. It’s been known to outlast most of the other flooring options out there, too.

Vinyl Tile

Vinyl can easily look like real stone or marble and even has a similar texture to stone. It comes in an endless amount of designs and color options which make it one of the easiest ways to insert your own style and personality in your rig. Vinyl is less expensive than ceramic, but it’s sturdy, so it makes a great alternative for those looking for a cost-effective selection.

Vinyl is also waterproof and is the perfect choice for RVers looking for realistic flooring that’s easy to maintain and long-lasting.

We hope this gets you started on the journey towards finding the right replacement flooring for you. And, when you choose us, know you’re getting quality materials and customer service.
